Northwest Iowa foster and adoptive families are invited to join Iowa KidsNet for a family campout at Redwood Resort and Lost Island Lake on Saturday, July 31 in Ruthven, Iowa.
Redwood Resort offers a playground, sand volleyball courts, horseshoes, a beach, walking trails and swimming, fishing and boating on Lost Island Lake.
Feel free to invite a family or friend along who is interested in foster care – it will be a great opportunity for them to meet staff and other families.
Lodging Options
You can reserve for one night or multiple nights – it depends on availability and your preference.
Cabins – Limited number of Redwood Resort cabins available for $50/night. Each cabin sleeps up to 6 with the option to pitch a tent outside the cabin.
Campsites – Bring a camper or up to two tents for the Redwood Resort campsite option at $20/night.
Lost Island DNR Campground – Only ½ mile from Redwood Resort, campsites are $15/day on a first come, first serve basis.
Saturday Schedule:
10:00 a.m. – Welcome breakfast hosted by Iowa KidsNet
Afternoon – Youth Nature activity
6:30 p.m. – Cookout hosted by Iowa KidsNet
Evening – Games and door prizes hosted by Iowa KidsNet
