Placement pending -  Christian's Iowa Department of Human Services Adoption Case Manager is currently evaluating the families that have asked for more information on Christian.  He will be contacting the families that he feels would be a good fit for Christian.

In a lot of ways Christian is a typical 8-year-old boy.  He loves to be outdoors playing and is very energetic and outgoing.  In other ways Christian is still recovering from the years of hurt he endured. 

Christian is described as a very engaging young man who likes drawing, coloring and playing with toys.  He is currently struggling with his behavior in the school setting, so that is an area where his new family will need to be very involved.

A family that is active, patient and has a good understanding of the behaviors associated with attachment issues would be a good fit for Christian.   He will benefit from strong adults who will hang in there with him through thick and thin.  Because of the mistrust Christian has, the new family will need to be able to provide unconditional love though it may not be reciprocated for awhile.  They should also be willing to work with Christian as he works towards moving into a family setting, be involved in therapy and understand this may be an ongoing need.
